BROOKLYN - Many Brooklyn residents celebrated Christmas in church today.

While it was a day to celebrate, many families are still recovering from Sandy, after many homes were left under several feet of water and completely damaged by the storm.

The Holy Family Church on Flatlands Avenue has been a haven to parishioners not just to celebrate their faith, but the church is still an active FEMA state disaster recovery center.

"We can feel the pressure of what's going on, and we try to make the spirit of the holiday better for some of the people," said a church spokesperson.
