Brooklyn residents flock to Chase job fair

BROOKLYN - JP Morgan Chase held a job fair at 4 Chase MetroTech Center in Brooklyn today in search of 1,000 workers.

The company plans to hire 1,000 new customer service professionals in Brooklyn over the next month to work in its home lending business.

Some of the applicants waiting to get into the job fair said they have been searching for work since the start of the last recession and worry the latest stock market turmoil may affect their long-term job prospects.

Chase is New York's largest bank, employing more than 3,000 people in Brooklyn and nearly 30,000 people in all five boroughs.
