BROOKLYN - Some Brooklyn residents are renting out their homes to people in town for Sunday’s Super Bowl.

More tourists are turning to websites like Homeaway.com to find homeowners offering up their properties for short-term rentals as an alternative to staying in a hotel.

The website quotes an average of $350 per night to stay in Brooklyn for Super Bowl weekend, compared to $1,700 a night to stay in New Jersey.

Homeowners offering up their places say the proximity to city makes their homes a popular pick for travelers.
