BROOKLYN - After a break from the heat this week, temperatures soared back into the 90s on Friday.

Many Brooklyn residents heeded health officials’ advice by staying indoors in the air conditioning.

Some families headed out to Coney Island for a chance to beat the heat in the ocean.

Officials recommend people who do go outside stay high hydrated and wear light colored clothing.
