Brooklyn Steppers excited for world stage

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - The Brooklyn Steppers are the only band from New York City asked to perform in President-elect Barack Obama?s inaugural parade celebration Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Band members and parents alike are ecstatic to be able to partake in the historic event in Washington, D.C.

"I couldn't sleep last night," said parent Cynthia Robinson. "I kept waking up every hour."

The band director says that the Steppers will perform within a few feet of President-elect Obama.

"Performing for Obama... that's something that doesn't come often," said Stepper Ayana Osson.
