FLATBUSH - Students who attend a Jewish school in Flatbush are being hailed as heroes after alerting a woman whose house was on fire.

Authorities say the top floor of an East 35th Street home had became engulfed in flames when a rabbi who was giving the students instruction saw the blaze and called 911. The students then went over to the house and alerted the woman, who had no idea the fire was raging.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze.
