Brooklyn tourism flourishing in 2010

BROOKLYN - Brooklyn tourism is flourishing as the city is on track to host a record number of visitors in 2010.

The borough president?s office says tourism in Brooklyn has climbed steadily over the past few years. Many of the visitors are from far-off countries and represent a diverse group of people.

City officials say preliminary data shows New York is on course to host 47.5 million tourists and visitors this year. That's half a million more than the record set in 2008 and a 4 percent increase over 2009.
