BROOKLYN - The Five Boro Bike Tour is taking place Sunday and there will be several street closures in the borough.

The Brooklyn portion will start at the Pulaski Bridge and riders will continue southbound, leaving major streets closed along the way. Bikers will then get on the BQE to make their way over the Verrazano Bridge. Streets will be closed from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The Brooklyn-bound Battery Tunnel will be diverted to Hamilton Avenue during the race, and is expected to cause heavy delays.

The Verrazano Bridge’s Staten Island-bound lower level will close starting midnight Saturday, and will not reopen until Sunday at 6 p.m. The upper level will remain open during the race.

In addition, alternate side of the street parking rules will be in effect throughout the weekend. On mass transit, there will be a lot of weekend track work throughout the weekend.
