BROOKLYN - Residents spent their Saturday volunteering at a Brooklyn homeless shelter as part of a project organized by a Brooklyn woman.

The outreach at the Atlantic Armory Homeless Shelter was organized by Diana Archer, the woman behind Diana's Giveback. Archer says it's a word-of-mouth community effort to help those in need. She says she's been volunteering since she was younger and loves helping others.

The group's next project will take place in September.
