Brownsville woman jumps from home window on Grafton Street after fire

A Brownsville woman is recovering today after a two-alarm fire forced her to jump out of her home window. The fire occurred on Grafton Street.

Fire officials confirm that a woman who lived in the house sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

BROOKLYN - A Brownsville woman is recovering today after a two-alarm fire forced her to jump out of her home window.

The fire occurred on Grafton Street.

News 12 spoke with a man who lives in the house, but was at work at the time of the fire. He says his wife jumped out of the back window for safety reasons. The woman was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he says she is in stable condition and being treated for a broken leg as well as bumps and bruises.

There is no word on what sparked the fire.
