Relatives of 43-year-old Vicky Griffin say the woman heard an argument in the hallway outside her fifth-story apartment in Tilden Houses at around 5:30 a.m.

When Griffin came out and tried to intervene, her family says, the grandmother of five was stabbed in the chest. Griffin was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
