Loved ones believe the teen ran away due to a gang assault earlier this year.

BROOKLYN - A Bushwick family is pleading for the safe return home of a 14-year-old girl. 

Loved ones say Asaia Reese disappeared Tuesday. They believe she was the victim of a gang assault earlier this year, which may have caused her to run away. 

Reese is described as being about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing turquoise and grey Nike shoes with a tan sweater and red book bag. 

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
