BROOKLYN - Bushwick Inlet Park is being honored by the American Institute of Architects and the Committee on the Environment.

The Williamsburg spot is being named as one of the top ten examples of sustainable architecture and ecological projects that protect and enhance the environment.

It is the only park in New York City to win the distinction this year.

The site is applauded for having a green building, which serves as the park's headquarters.

The all-electrical systems of the park’s building are primarily solar-powered, and the roof is irrigated with captured rainwater and water from the playground sprinklers.
