BROOKLYN - Businesses are struggling to rebuild after a five-alarm fire damaged several buildings last week.

Officials say the flames ignited at the Associated Supermarket on 5th Avenue just after noon on Friday. The fire burned for at least nine hours before firefighters put it out, and then a fire chief found burning embers Saturday morning.

Business owners say they are not sure when they can start to open their doors again. Many say it will be a long road ahead.
