(07/13/07) CONEY ISLAND ? Despite a call for improvements, residents say the Coney Island boardwalk is still filled with potential hazards.

News 12 Brooklyn crews on the boardwalk managed to find loose boards and nails in various places. One resident says she has to walk with her head down and eyes focused to ensure she doesn?t hurt herself.

In front of one restaurant, members of the News 12 Brooklyn crew were even able to pull up a loose board.

Through a statement, the New York City Parks Department said repairs are being made.

?Parks maintenance crews are on the boardwalk every day performing spot repairs as they are reported to us,? the statement read.
