Cafe Reconnect opens on Tompkins Avenue in hopes of a new start for youths

A nonprofit organization that helps troubled youths created a small cafe called Cafe Reconnect to help get youths back up on their feet.

BROOKLYN - A nonprofit organization that helps troubled youths created a small cafe called Cafe Reconnect to help get youths back up on their feet.

The 300-square-foot cafe offers baked goods, lattes and other treats for coffee lovers.

The money the cafe earns will go toward funding the program and paying the youths' salaries.
