Canadian geese return to Prospect Park

PROSPECT PARK - Canadian geese have returned to Prospect Park despite the U.S. Department of Agriculture's efforts to euthanize them in order to promote air traffic safety.

Nearly 400 Prospect Park geese were exterminated earlier this month yet geese sightings are up again.

Experts say that these are new, migratory geese, who spotted this empty lot and decided to stay.

The Department of Agriculture says that limiting the number of geese is necessary because they cause property damage as well as health concerns due to their droppings.
