BROOKLYN - Canarsie residents are attempting to dry out after Sandy brought extreme flooding to their neighborhood.

Several cars were abandoned in the middle of area roadways during the storm because of rising floodwaters.

Homeowners say many of their basements and garages are also flooded with several feet of water. They've begun to bail it out, but say the cleanup will take some time.
