Canarsie football coach Mike Camardese is fighting for his job after receiving a "U" rating. Camardese says the school is trying to force him out

BROOKLYN - Canarsie football coach Mike Camardese is fighting for his job after receiving a "U" rating.

Camardese says the school is trying to force him out due to the unsatisfactory grade, which he says is undeserved after nearly 30 years as a coach, teacher and father at the school.

Many parents, players and alumni are showing support for Camardese, who says the program has been in jeopardy since the school was phased out.

The Department of Education (DOE) had no comment on the rating.
