BROOKLYN - An out-of-control car smashed into a Midwood grocery, seriously damaging the storefront.
The elderly driver of the vehicle told News 12 that he was rear-ended, causing him to fly up onto the sidewalk and into the Ocean Fruit Supermarket on the corner of Avenue O and Ocean Avenue at around 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The store was closed and the outside gate pulled down at the time of the accident. It's not yet clear when it will be able to reopen for business.

The driver was not hurt, and no other injuries were reported.
