Car slams into bagel shop in Midwood

MIDWOOD - Two teenagers were sent to the hospital today after a car slammed into a bagel shop in Midwood.

Witnesses say the car came barreling down 20th Avenue at a high speed and tried to swerve around a pedestrian when the driver lost control and hit the bagel store head-on. They say the teens were waiting for a bus outside the store when the driver lost control.

The store owner says the business is completely destroyed but that he plans to rebuild.

Police say no criminality is suspected at this point in the investigation and that the teens who were injured are expected to be OK.
