BROOKLYN - A car wash worker was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash that happened just off the lot where he worked.

The deadly accident happened at the car wash located at Atlantic and Bedford avenues.

Authorities say the worker was attempting to move a Lincoln Navigator from the lot when the vehicle entered Atlantic Avenue, where it was struck by a westbound Nissan Altima.

The car wash worker was ejected from the Lincoln and then was subsequently struck by it, police say. The SUV continued along Atlantic Avenue until it struck a fire hydrant.

The worker, who has not been identified, was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Nissan driver remained at the scene and was also hospitalized with complaints of pain, officials say.
