BROOKLYN - The mother of 16-year-old Kimani Gray spoke publicly today in a plea for answers surrounding the death of her son.

A visibly emotional Carol Gray spoke from Councilman Charles Baron's office about her son, who she describes as a normal teenager. She says Gray was slaughtered by police and she wants to know why.

The police-involved shooting has sparked public outcry against the NYPD, with many community members saying they don't believe the department's account of what happened. Authorities say Gray had a loaded gun, but his mother says she doesn't believe it.

Carol Gray also said she doesn't condone the violence and police riots that have been unleashed on the East Flatbush neighborhood, and that she just wants justice from the two officers involved in the shooting.
