BROOKLYN - The West Indian-American Day Parade is not for another month but celebrations are already under way.

Parade leaders and organizers met at Gracie Mansion to honor one of Brooklyn's biggest celebrations in the yearly kick-off event.

The parade is in it's 44th year and this year's theme is "One Caribbean Family."
