Census Bureau dropping use of 'Negro' to describe black Americans in survey

BROOKLYN - The Census Bureau has announced that it will be removing the word "Negro"as a choice for one's ethnicity.

The decision came after many community members became upset that the 2010 survey had "Negro," next to "black" or "African-American."

New language will be on the survey forms next year.
