KENSINGTON - A menorah that was destroyed by fire last week in Kensington has been replaced.

Jewish leaders joined elected officials outside the Chabad Lubavitch Snyagogue on Ocean Parkway to watch the menorah installment.

Police confirmed to News 12 that the fire outside the synagogue does not appear to be a hate crime. They believe it was a careless incident involving a discarded cigarette.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is still investigating the incident, however.
