BROOKLYN - The city's yellow school bus drivers will be returning to their normal routes Wednesday after spending more than a month on strike.

Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott spoke before a filled room in downtown Manhattan this morning, telling everyone that drivers will be there when kids return to school from a two-day winter recess. He says that the Department of Education (DOE) will be calling all families today and tomorrow to make sure they know.

The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181 made the decision Friday to leave the picket line after receiving a letter from five mayoral candidates who promised to revisit the job security provision that led to the strike.
