BROOKLYN - Police say a girl is dead and two others are seriously injured after being hit by a stolen car in Flatlands.

Police say two young children and a woman were waiting for a bus when the driver of the vehicle jumped the curb and struck them.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday at Flatlands Avenue and East 46th Street.

Investigators say the driver took off on foot after the accident.

Neighbors say some onlookers got together and lifted the vehicle off of one of the kids.

Officials say they are now searching for the driver. Witnesses described the suspect as a white man with shoulder-length hair and a thin build.

Investigators say the woman and a 9-year-old girl are in critical condition. Police are offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
