BROOKLYN - A young boy was treated for serious injuries after being struck by a car in Borough Park.

Investigators say the incident happened at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of 54th Street and 5th Avenue.

News 12 is told the boy ran into the street, and a man driving a black Lexus sedan struck him.

The boy was taken to a hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene after the incident. Officials did not immediately say whether he will face any charges.
