Child struck by FDNY ambulance in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG - A 10-year-old boy is recovering today after police say an FDNY ambulance slammed into him in Williamsburg.

The incident happened near Hooper Street and Broadway last night.

Authorities say the ambulance was on its way to an emergency when the boy ran into the street. They say the ambulance had both lights and sirens on when the accident happened.

The boy was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.
