Christmas tree selling is a labor of love

BROOKLYN - Street vendors in Brooklyn have been hawking rows of trees just before Christmas filling the air with a time-honored New York tradition.

Between about 25 and 30 million real Christmas trees, mostly harvested from Christmas tree plantations, are sold each year in the United States, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

Vendors often come from other states with their families to sell their trees. Many have to stay with the trees around the clock right until Christmas Day. But for them, it?s a labor of love.
