Church strikes deal for roof with cell phone company

BROOKLYN - A 100-year-old Brooklyn church is now being paid by Verizon to house cell phone antennas.

The Greenwood Baptist Church has attached six antennas to its steeple for the cell phone company. Verizon will pay the church a monthly stipend, which will be used to make capital roof improvements.

The church is not revealing exactly how much it is being paid in the deal.
