BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents took to Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy Tuesday, continuing to hope to create unity.

Local churches and hospitals have partnered with the NYPD to create the "Unity in the Community Committee," which has produced prayer rallies every Tuesday night this summer.

The group came about in response to a rash of police-related shootings in the early summer months.

Those who participated have joined in songs and prayers to show solidarity for victims of gun violence and more.

These gatherings also offer health screenings, free food and clothing and job opportunities.

Tuesday marked the final outdoor rally of the summer, but organizers hope to bring similar events to hospitals or churches in the fall.
