BROOKLYN - Tenants evicted from an illegal Bushwick apartment building were given the chance to return and collect their belongings Saturday.

The city's Department of Buildings evicted dozens of residents without notice Thursday. The agency says the landlord illegally converted the industrial zoned building on Broadway into residential units.

The department will not allow tenants to return for their personal items past Saturday. According to tenants, the owner of the building has been keeping them informed on all developments.
