BROOKLYN - Officials say the city will be investing in community parks located in low-income areas.

The city's parks commissioner announced the $150 million project to benefit about a dozen parks Tuesday.

Lafayette Playground in Brooklyn is among four in the borough slated to receive a major facelift.

Lafayette will receive about $5.5 million. Officials say the work will take about three years.
