BROOKLYN - The City Comptroller's Office is set to launch a mobile app this week that will allow people to report any maintenance problems through their phone or iPad.

City Comptroller John Liu says the new NYC 311+ app is designed to be an easier alternative than calling the 311 hotline.

While a 311 app is available, makers of the NYC 311+ say their software is more interactive, allowing you to log on and publicly rate spots in your neighborhood. Users will also be able to comment with any suggestions to make those places better.

The NYC 311+ app will be free for all iPhone, iPad and Android users.
