BROOKLYN - The City Council is giving more than $250,000 in funding to Southern Brooklyn community groups that help immigrants.

According to Councilman David Greenfield (D-Brooklyn), the money will go toward several local programs, including English classes.

The funding will also be used for legal assistance to help immigrants navigate the citizenship process.
