BRIGHTON BEACH - The New York City Department of Transportation plans to raise the cost for quarterly parking permits at a Brightwater Court municipal lot by $220.

Drivers who park at the lot already pay $330 every three months. The say parking in the area is impossible, so they're forced to pay for a spot.

Pat Singer, of the Brighton Beach Neighbors Association, says she has been flooded with calls from angry residents who can't afford to pay for the increase.

"If people can't live here or shop here, they are going to move out," Singer says.
