BROOKLYN - The city has painted over playground equipment that was made to look like a fake jail after receving numerous complaints about the disturbing theme.

The New York City Housing Authority originally built the jail-themed playground in 2004 at the Tompkins Houses. The space featured imitation bars and had the word ?jail? on several pieces of play equipment.

The playground now has a space-age theme.
