BROOKLYN - A new citywide initiative by the city's Department of Education is telling students that college should be part of their plan if they want to have a fulfilling career.

The idea behind College Awareness Day is to help students of all ages understand that higher education will help them achieve their dreams.

At I.S. 220 in Sunset Park, teachers got students motivated about higher learning by telling them their own stories about college and representing their alma maters.

The students played a game of bingo during which they asked their classmates about their goals for the future.

The school's principal says that it's important to introduce students to the idea of higher education while they're young.
