City kicks off senior fitness program in Marine Park

MARINE PARK - Brooklyn seniors are walking the walk and talking the talk with a free fitness program in Marine Park and across the city.

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation kicked off its senior fitness program Monday with tennis and yoga instructions and organized walks at city parks. Seniors are taking advantage of the program in hopes of fighting common ailments such as arthritis and osteoporosis. They also say there's the added benefit of finding new friends.

The fitness classes, held twice a week, run through June. Room is still available and seniors are encouraged to register.
