City looks for developer for downtown BK building

BROOKLYN - City officials are looking for a developer to turn a downtown municipal building in Brooklyn into a bustling shopping area.

City officials say the area is the perfect place to develop a shopping center.  They say between the seven buses that stop right in front and the five train lines nearby, the area sees more than 150,000 shoppers daily.

The city issued a request for a proposal for the 37,000-square foot space on the first and second floors. The request for proposals will wrap up sometime in the first quarter of next year.
