BROOKLYN - The city's medical examiner has ruled the death of a baby found in a teenager's bag as a homicide.

News 12 previously reported that a security guard discovered the dead baby in a Brooklyn girl's bag at the Victoria's Secret in Herald Square on Oct. 17.

The 17-year-old told detectives she delivered the baby the day before and didn't know what to do.

The medical examiner says the baby died of homicidal asphyxia.

The Brooklyn teen was initially charged with a misdemeanor, accused of shoplifting. There is no word if the charges will be upgraded.
