BROOKLYN - Officials gathered today for a celebration of the Bloomberg administration’s accomplishments, complete with singing and dancing.
Members of the Irondale Ensemble Project performed a special rendition of “So Long, Farewell,” wishing Mayor Michael Bloomberg the best and thanking him for his dedication to the city.
Various city officials also praised the mayor and credited him with much of what has happened in the city, including the addition of the Barclays Center.
As the honorary guest, Bloomberg spoke about his administration’s accomplishments over the last decade like the increase in job growth and drop in crime. He said New York City is the best place to live, and “no matter what you do or what hand God has dealt, you are better off in New York City than you would be anywhere else.”
After Mayor-elect Bill De Blasio is sworn in, Bloomberg says he’ll continue to live in New York City, but is planning a 10-day vacation as well.
