NEW YORK - (AP) - A new online database shows city officials havespent tens of thousands of dollars on car services this yeardespite Mayor Michael Bloomberg's public embrace of mass transit.

The database, called Checkbook NYC, tracks and posts cityexpenditures hours after they are processed.

It was unveiled today. Officials say it shows 99 percent of allthe money the city spends - more than $35 billion since Jan. 1.

Among the expenditures are more than $10,000 in car servicecharges among the mayor's budget staff, more than $66,000 by lawdepartment officials and more than $11,000 racked up by CityCouncil staffers.
