NEW YORK - Parking prices are going up for metered spots across the city.

A spokesman for Mayor Michael Bloomberg's office say single meters that now cost 75 cents an hour will increase to $1.

For muni-meters in commercial zones, there will be a 50-cent hike from $2.50 to $3. The rate increases are expected to go into effect in January.
