City Point construction starts

(07/19/10) DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN - The City Point Project is back in action after the economy slowed construction to a halt.

City officials offered up federal stimulus money to jumpstart the project and now the first phase, construction of a four-story retail building, has commenced.

Developers say City Point will be a mix of commercial space and both affordable and market-rate housing. They say the first phase is expected to last 18 months, and completion of the full project is contingent upon the economy.
