City pools open just in time for summer

BROOKLYN - Summer is in full swing as all 54 city pools opened today.

At the Sunset Park pool there was a line to get in a half hour before the pool even opened.

Officials say before residents pack their pool bag, there are a few rules to be reminded of. Everyone is required to wear a bathing suit on deck and in the water.  Babies are required to wear swimming diapers. There are also height requirements for kids under 16 to enter the pool without adult supervision.

The city's outdoor pools will be open from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., seven days a week.

A full list of rules is available through the Parks Department and by calling 311.
