WILLIAMSBURG - Citymeals-on-Wheels volunteers in Williamsburg reflected on their challenges in reaching seniors during Superstorm Sandy last year.

Before Sandy hit, volunteers were hustling to put together boxes of food for seniors. More than 800 volunteers were on hand to deliver food, which proved to be challenging at residences without electricity. Cassandra Armstrong says she had to use the light on her cellphone to see in dark stairwells.

Citymeals-on-Wheels now gives water and emergency flashlights to homebound seniors so they'll be prepared during storms.
