Classified Guantanamo files show BK bridge was terror target

BROOKLYN - Hundreds of classified Guantanamo files made available to various media outlets show the Brooklyn Bridge was a target by al-Qaida linked groups.

The documents reveal that before Sept. 11, 2001, methods for bringing down bridges were being taught at a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan. The Brooklyn Bridge was the target of an aborted terror plot, documents show.

The NYPD says it has known about al-Qaida?s interest for years and has maintained tight security as well as upgraded safety on the bridge.
